Aug. 26--Maj. John Rose, a member of the 74th Medical Group at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, has been in the service nearly 17 years and has never been deployed.
Until now.
Rose was one of 25 medical personnel from the base medical center scheduled to take off this morning on a four-month deployment to Iraq.
They're among nearly 150 doctors, nurses and other medical specialists who will be deploying through September. The first three, a critical care air transport team, left Friday morning.
