PHILADELPHIA _ Ever since Mario Andretti immigrated to Nazareth, Pa., from Italy with his family in 1955, there has been a race track in that Lehigh Valley town.
Preceding the current Nazareth Speedway were two dirt tracks: a half-mile oval adjacent to that site and a one-mile track on the speedway's site.
Following Sunday's Firestone Indy 225, however, racing will be over at the speedway. The 100th IRL series race will be the final race at the one-mile oval.
