Designing and putting together a burn unit requires taking an intensive care unit design and customizing it to meet the special medial and support needs of the staff, patients and their families.
A 10-bed burn unit is part the 58-bed-bed intensive care unit in Community Medical Centers' new $91 million trauma and critical care center in Fresno, Calif. The six-story building which also will include an expanded wound and burn therapy and hyperbaric oxygen center and an adjacent outpatient burn clinic, will anchor CMC's new 58-acre, $250 million state-of-the art medical campus in downtown Fresno.
