BOSTON -- From the footbed linings to the buttons and buckles, Marc Jacobs is the first to admit he adores the "finicky details" that come with designing shoes.

"They are one of our favorite things to do. It's such a fetish thing," the designer told Footwear News while celebrating the recent opening of the company's Newbury Street store with an Olympics-themed party. "Then we've had such great success with the shoes. People love them, so there's this dialog going, and that encourages us to do more."
