THE name alone conjures up its own images. The Dordogne; knee-deep every summer with the Volvo-driving British middle classes.
Like many a cliched phrase, it probably contains at least a grain of truth. But for a first-time visitor to one of Britain's most popular French holiday destinations, it's best to travel with as few prejudices as possible.
