Islamabad, Aug 27 PPI: Mr Shaukat Aziz was Friday elected as the country's new Prime Minister, after he secured 191 votes in a special session of the National Assembly in Islamabad. The special session was convened in order to ascertain the member who commands confidence of the majority of the House. The election process took place through division. Mr. Shaukat Aziz was joint candidate of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League and its allied parties. Makhdoom Javed Hashmi candidate of the opposition Alliance for Restoration of Democracy ARD was other candidate in the election.
