Just more than 24 hours after moving into the official chancellor's residence at Syracuse University, Steven Brechin tells a visitor his mind is mush.
And no wonder.
He began his day as most do not: eating bagels with his family in a mansion, in full view of clicking, whirring news cameras.
After breakfast, the news horde filed out behind Brechin's wife, Nancy Cantor - through the kitchen and past several enormous gift fruit baskets wrapped in crinkly cellophane - as she bounded into her first official day as Syracuse University's inaugural female chancellor.
