I want to install a new copy of Windows 98 on a friend's desktop computer. I've backed up all his files, but he has compressed his hard drive so I can't reformat it. How can I clean up the disk for afresh install?

You should repartition the hard drive. The easiest way to do this is to create a Windows 98 bootable floppy and put a copy of FDISK on it. Boot the computer with this floppy, use FDISK to delete all ...
