IBM'S THINKPAD NOTEBOOKS HAVE NEVER BEEN the flashiest around, and the upgraded ThinkPad T41 series continues the staid black-slab tradition. Fortunately, IBM doesn't need a lot of bling, because this fast, solid-thin-and-light delivers all the amenities that make ThinkPads endearing.
The T41 measures a svelte 1x12x10 inches and weighs only 5.9 pounds with its removable 7-ounce optical drive and AC adapter. Our $2,139 test system (model 2379DJU) showed its business slant, running Windows XP Professional.
