NEWPORT NEWS -- As football practice ended on a recent morning at Christopher Newport University, the Captains wiped their brows and started a cool-down jog. All of a sudden, several players leading the pack broke out in song. Those in the back joined in, and, soon, the hazy air was filled with the sound of "I've been workin' on the railroad."
Funny that the CNU football team should sing a construction hymn before this, its fourth season. Because most would say that the Captains, especially the 14 seniors who have been with the team since its first practice, have built quite a reputation already.
