A compromise for growth
in Beach transition area
Re "Growth in Oceana is stirring up debate" (news, Aug. 25):
As a speaker for the North Landing Landowners Coalition at Monday night's meeting, I expressed members' concerns that the city had already begun to devalue our property and that our property rights would be taken without just compensation.
As property owners in the transition area, we are supposed to be able to develop at the diminished rate of one house per acre. This has reduced the value of our acreage significantly, and the Navy is now asking the city to curtail further growth in our area.
A simple compromise ...
