PROJECT OVERVIEW:
A Moroccan/Iranian 50:50 joint venture was recently established in view of building a new fertilizer plant in Morocco. The partners in the planned undertaking include the local OFFICE CHERIFIEN DES PHOSPHATES (OCP) and FAUJI FERTILIZER CO. LTD. (FFCL) of Iran.
Construction plans under consideration call for building a complex with an installed production capacity of 375,000 metric tons per year of P2O5 as well as urea and DAP. The new facility, to be sited in Jorf Lasfar, is expected to cost $200,000,000 to build.
Operational start-up is scheduled for some time around the end of 2006.
