WELL TEMPERED STRING BAND Book Two Lutra 244
Their name is a bit off the mark. While Pete Peterson (banjo and guitar), Eileen Kozloff (mandolin and Autoharp), and Kellie Allen (guitar) are fine players it is their vocals that really set this trio apart. Drawing from a diverse selection of tunes from Weird Al Yankovic to the Louvins and the Carters. WTSB are mostly a vocal ensemble steeped in the tradition of the Strange Creek Singers and the myriad of 1960s-era jug bands and folk ensembles.
Book Two, their second group recording, opens with "Miss Me When I'm Gone" from the singing of the Carter Family. It is a rousing sing-a-long and is immediately ...
