A new service from Underwriters Laboratories Inc., Northbrook, Ill., helps medical device manufacturers manage regulatory compliance. While it is the responsibility of each medical device manufacturer to prove compliance, independent third parties or Notified Bodies (NB) are frequently required to assess and document the manufacturer's claim of compliance.
