This excellent collection of essays provides an ideal starting-point for exploring the burgeoning scholarship about the persecution of a wide variety of groups in Nazi Germany. While, as the editors concede, some victims such as the Jehovah's Witnesses are omitted, the contributors are to be congratulated for striking a careful balance between tracing the specific policies of exclusion, and drawing broader conclusions about the workings of the Nazi regime.
