Saturday's non-conference game Camp Randall Stadium offered the Central Florida football team at least a slice of sanctity from the surreal world in which it has been living of late.
The Golden Knights' preseason schedule has been interrupted not by one, but two hurricanes. They also had to open their season without first-year coach George O'Leary, who missed the game to attend the funeral of his mother, who died earlier this week in New York.
So even a 34-6 loss to the University of Wisconsin in front of 82,116 was somewhat therapeutic for UCF.
