Sep. 7--Getting through intersections has become a test of nerves, with more than half of Palm Beach County's traffic signals knocked out and smaller outages in Broward County in the wake of Hurricane Frances.
Some drivers are barreling through them without batting an eye. Others are so cautious they tie up traffic.
About 80 percent of Palm Beach County's traffic signals remained inoperable Monday night. Signals were out at about 120 intersections in Broward, with half of them in the northern half of the county, according to the county's web site.
