Last year, Madison County's soil and water conservation district began selling blueberry bushes to the public, selling 500 plants.
This spring, the district sold 1,000 blueberry plants, said Peggy Matteson, the district's secretary and treasurer.
The district added raspberry bushes and apple trees this year, and they made smashing debuts: More than 500 apple trees and about 1,000 raspberry bushes were snapped up.
