KANSAS CITY, Mo. _ Not many people understand Ed Myers' rage for rockets.
When he tells them he shoots off rockets, they think of the small kind you buy at hobby stores and launch in a nearby field.
Uh-uh, he tells them. Think larger. Rockets so tall you have to scramble up scaffolding to reach the top. Rockets with multiple on-board computers and enough punch to fly five miles into the sky. Rockets with cameras and altimeters and global positioning devices that need federal airspace clearance and use essentially the same solid-rocket fuel as the boosters in the space shuttle.
You know, BIG rockets.
