Article: E. S. Bankest Files a Malpractice Suit Against Florida Law Firm Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart P.A.

MIAMI -- E. S. Bankest LC today filed a malpractice suit against the Florida law firm Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart P.A. and one of its shareholders, Mark Scheer. The suit also charges the 120-lawyer firm with a breach of fiduciary duty, and asks for compensatory damages in excess of $170 million as well as punitive damages.

The complaint notes that Gunster Yoakley was "riddled with conflicts" during the time it was representing Bankest, a factoring company formally owned equally by Espirito Santo Bank of Miami and Bankest Capital Corporation, which was owned and controlled by Hector and Eduardo Orlansky.
