The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) today reaffirmed its commitment to developing the China market for Canadian tourism with the announced appointment of Mr. Derek Galpin as its new Managing Director for the China market. Mr. Galpin officially joined the CTC on September 1, 2004.
Canada and the CTC have been working for a number of years with the Chinese government to promote travel between the two countries. China is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, and the approval of Canada as an official travel destination has significant economic potential for the Canadian tourism industry.
