It is probably the only tradition that the Academy Awards "borrowed" from the Emmys, for it was at the September 2002 ceremony that the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium's "Greenroom," the heretofore drab area that presenters wait to go on stage, first got an Architectural Digest makeover. The following March, the AD Greenroom made its Oscar debut at L.A.'s Kodak Theatre, and the magazine's "look" has been a fixture at both ceremonies since (with plenty of p.r. on the celebrity programs).
