Gary Sheffield and Hideki Matsui hit consecutive homers in the ninth inning, and the New York Yankees took advantage of 14 walks Sunday in a 9-7 comeback victory over the Baltimore Orioles.
New York, which reopened a 3 1/2-game lead over second-place Boston in the AL East, trailed 6-2 in the fifth before winning for the seventh time in eight games.
