PHOENIX -- Dennis B. Underwood, vice president on Colorado River Resources for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, releases the following statement regarding today's signing of a Lower Colorado River Multi-Species Conservation Program Memorandum of Agreement:
"This agreement is a major step toward long-term, 50-year compliance for existing and future Colorado River water and power operations. It partners federal and state agencies to provide for the conservation of 27 species of fish, birds, mammals, reptiles and plants, and more than 8,000 acres of associated habitat, from Hoover Dam to the Mexican border.
