The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority deserves points for perseverance in its pursuit of the Euclid Corridor Transportation Project. Even better than points, though, is the nearly $83 million in federal money that RTA is in line to receive for the planned, $168 million public transit link between Cleveland's downtown and University Circle, the city's two biggest centers of employment.
No matter what shape this project takes, some critics will argue that the money won't be well-spent. However, we believe RTA has shown practicality, flexibility and fiscal responsibility in adapting the long-discussed transit corridor to economic realities.
