Sep. 15--SANTA FE, N.M. -- The Santa Fe County Commission on Tuesday unanimously approved a Public Service Company of New Mexico proposal to upgrade transmission lines.
Under PNM's plan -- dubbed Project Power -- new lines will follow a 13-mile path of existing power lines that run across city, county and federal land.
The new lines are needed to help Santa Fe meet a growing demand for power, PNM representative Laurie Moye told commissioners. Power consumption in Santa Fe has doubled over the past two decades, and if one of the two 1950s-era lines that ...
