Sep. 14--LEICESTER TIGERS EARN STRIPES OFF THE FIELD: Britain's biggest rugby union club, Leicester Tigers, doubled profits last year despite their worst season on the field in a decade. Tigers reported pre-tax profits of UKpound 783,000 in the year to June, on turnover up 11 percent at UKpound 11.3 million. With UKpound 4 million of cash on the balance sheet, chairman Peter Tom is aiming to increase the 17,000-capacity Welford Road stadium.
