That a curmudgeon like Ralph Nader could get so many Democrats all huffed up about his getting on the ballot in Florida shows how political games trump decency, honesty and fair play.

Nader, the Reform Party candidate, should be on the ballot in his quixotic quest for the presidency. Nominees from virtually every other political persuasion _ from the Green Party, Libertarian Party, Socialist Workers' Party, Socialist Party of Florida and Constitution Party of Florida _ got in without a Democratic Party-inspired lawsuit popping up.

Sure, Nader grabbed 97,421 votes in 2000.
