Editor's Note: As a result of VFW magazine's article on Cold War memorials in May, numerous readers raised the question of eligibility for selected Cold War vets. (This issue will be further explored in an upcoming Sound Off). Here are some of their comments.
I am consistently proud of VFW magazine's coverage of the Cold War and its veterans. I applaud the organization's efforts on their behalf, but wonder what legitimacy is needed to include at least those who served overseas?
VFW membership was extended to all those serving in and around Korea. Why can't it be done for Cold War veterans? Let's do right by them before another year passes away.
