Article: Car sales recorded at 226,178 units in first half of 2004.(Trade)

After hitting an annual sales record since the 1997 crisis at 354,331 units in 2003, car sales reached 226,178 units in the first half of this year. The Astra Group contributed 106,310 units to the total sales. Based on the performance in the first half of the year, total sales in 2004 are predicted to hit an all time record at 400,000 units exceeding the previous peak of 386,691 units in 1997.
