Cable TV networks seem to be the creative present and future of television. That should be driven home when the 56th annual Primetime Emmy Awards are handed out Sunday night. HBO almost doubled its nearest competitor, NBC, in total nominations with 124.
Here's a look at the major categories followed by the most deserving picks:
Drama series: "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation"; "Joan of Arcadia"; "The Sopranos"; "24"; "The West Wing."
Should win: "The Sopranos" remains the only TV show that plays as a novel.
Comedy series: "Arrested Development"; "Curb Your Enthusiasm"; "Everybody Loves ...
