VINCENT Bollore is one of Europe's most successful corporate raiders and WPP advertising chief executive Sir Martin Sorrell will be keeping a close eye on him in the next few weeks.
Breton Bollore has one of the most enviable investment records in Europe, so when he began building up a stake in the world's sixthlargest advertising group, Havas, in June, its chairman, Alain de Pouzilhac, knew trouble was in store.
Last week, Bollore pushed his stake to 10.4% after Havas lost out to Sorrell in the bidding for US rival Grey Global, and de Pouzilhac admitted the raider wanted a seat on the Havas board.
