Sep. 19--SURRY, Va. -- The wooden walls in Beth Fratarcangelo's riverfront A-frame now gleam in the sunlight, courtesy of fresh polyurethane brushed on the honey-colored planks.
Four dogs click and clack across easy-to-mop tile floors and climb over new leather couches. The rebuilt kitchen features a trendy stainless steel refrigerator.
Oh, and the wall that Hurricane Isabel pushed off its foundation is now back in place. The storm didn't so much clean house as trash it and then force a 49-week rebuilding project.
