Sep. 7--The proposed 416-home Pacifica San Juan development was approved by the San Juan Capistrano City Council.
The 4-0 vote cleared the way for the project on 256 acres off Valle Road and Camino Las Ramblas. There are a few details to wrap up and the council is expected to tackle those at its Sept. 16 meeting.
Meanwhile, San Juan residents will be paying more for the water they use. The council approved a 5-percent rate hike last week. What does that mean? In July the average San Juan household paid $37.93 for water. That will jump to $39.77. The rates will be re-evaluated annually.
