Sep. 13--SANTA ANA, Calif.-- Computer component maker ITT Industries Cannon has cut as many as 250 local jobs since March, moving manufacturing work overseas where costs are lower. Layoffs included two dozen factory workers who were let go last week.

Santa Ana-based Cannon, a division of ITT Industries in New York, makes electronic connectors used in computers, cell phones and airplanes. The company is constantly searching for the most economic way to produce quality products, said Glenn Leibowitz, ITT Cannon's director of advertising and public relations.
