Jul. 26--The planned sale of six Wisconsin radio stations, including two in Wisconsin Dells and one in Portage, dissolved recently despite a long-negotiated agreement between Tomah-based Magnum Radio Group and La Crosse's Mid-West Family Radio.
Magnum and Mid-West officials feared that the Federal Communications Commission would prevent Mid-West from owning too many stations in one market area. Rather than keep Magnum station employees and advertising clients in flux, Magnum owner Dave Magnum and Mid-West Family officials agreed to end the sale, Magnum general manager Gary Johnson said.
