Sep. 21--Thai Mobile says it will review the almost 1,000 VIP numbers it has handed out free of charge to state officials since 2002, a promotion that has left the company with bills topping 10 million baht a month.
An executive of Thai Mobile, a joint venture formed by TOT Corporation and CAT Telecom, said the give-aways of mobile phones to management-level staff at state enterprises and government agencies began as a marketing gimmick.
