May 28--Auto parts manufacturer Aapico Hitech Plc says its 2.05-billion-baht acquisition of Parish Structural Products (Thailand) Ltd will help double revenues this year from 2002.
Aapico last week announced that it would purchase a 99 percent stake in Parish Structural Products (Thailand) Ltd (PSPT), a manufacturer of frame sets for Isuzu pickups, from US autoparts manufacturer Dana Corp.
S.C. Yeap, Aapico president and chief executive, said the deal was a rare example of "reverse globalisation", where a small Thai company was stepping up to acquire shares from one of the world's top-five auto parts manufacturers.
