Apr. 30--Orange County's pool of homes to buy -- both new and old -- remains tight, two reports show.

Slightly more than two days' worth of new homes was available at the end of March, according to numbers released Tuesday by the Meyers Group in Costa Mesa. That's less than half the five-day supply a year ago.

Homebuilders had 45 homes to sell March 31, most of which were traditional homes. Two were town homes.

The supply of preowned O.C. homes lasted 2.6 months as of February, showed the most recent statistics from the California Association of Realtors.
