Apr. 14--NAGOYA, Japan--Denso Corp. said Monday it will set up a joint venture with a Robert Bosch GmbH subsidiary in May to develop large-scale integrated circuits (LSIs) for use in car navigation systems.
The capital of 100 million yen for the venture to be based in Kariya, Aichi Prefecture, will be evenly put up by Denso, an affiliate of Toyota Motor Corp., and Blaupunkt GmbH, the company said.
The allies want to cash in on the synergy effects of Robert Bosch's influence in the European market and Denso's technology for projecting road maps onto the monitors of the car navigation systems, it said.
