Sep. 22--AUSTIN, Texas -- Nearly two years into a probe of Republican fund raising, three associates of U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay and eight corporations were indicted Tuesday on 32 felony charges of illegally funneling corporate money into the 2002 state election.
The indictments, which DeLay called politically motivated, name crimes punishable by sentences ranging from $10,000 fines to life in prison. They were handed up by the third Travis County grand jury to investigate the fund raising.
