Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty has endorsed Northwest Airlines' plans to expand Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

The USD860m expansion would give the airline and its SkyTeam alliance partners control of nearly all the gates at the airport's main terminal which already serves as Northwest's hub. Pawlenty said he thought the expansion would bring new airlines to the airport and allow Northwest to grow.
