NEW YORK -- For the first time in its long history, Gieves & Hawkes is going to Japan.

Earlier this month, the legendary Savile Row tailor signed a licensing agreement with Daidoh Ltd. and established Gieves and Hawkes Japan Ltd. to manufacture and market its ready-made and made-to-measure tailored clothing in Japan.

The clothing will be sold in Gieves & Hawkes' own nameplate stores as well as at in-store shops in major Japanese department stores.
