To Jon Alvarez, Michael Moore is hardly a filmmaking hero, offering the truth about a bumbling and two-faced Bush administration.
To Alvarez, as with Ahab, Moore is the white whale.
We mean that only in a literary way.
Alvarez will be outside the Carrier Dome tonight, where at least 10,000 people are expected to show up to listen to Moore speak. Alvarez will stand alongside a big cardboard cutout of Moore, a cutout that will have a noose around the neck.
Alvarez will be there to denounce Moore as a traitor, and he expects to have a "handful of patriots" at his side.
