MUSEUMS and galleries are ever-reliant on funding sources for the realisation of improvement and expansion plans. Often, it is a combination of individual investment, trust money and Government initiatives that provides the necessary cash for the design and construction work involved.
The Heritage Lottery Fund has already supported almost 500 projects for museums and collections since its inception in 1993, with grants making use of 137m [pounds sterling] of lottery ticket money.
The following selection of recent and upcoming museum and gallery design projects will use an additional 15m [pounds sterling] of funding from the HLF.
