This paper reports on a case study of a supply chain for textiles made from organically grown cotton. All actors in the supply chain, from the cotton farmers in Peru through to the Swedish trading company that markets the product, have been interviewed about the changes that occurred as a result of the greening process, their motivation for taking part in that process and what this participation has brought them. The focal company is Verner Frang AB, a small Swedish trading company specialising in sourcing high-quality cotton yarn from Peru and selling it to weavers on the European market.
