PHOENIX, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- As an eating disorder progresses, so do the isolation and secrecy that accompany it. Both adult women and teens with eating disorders evidence a need to isolate from their peers and loved ones. Adult women, if unmarried, tend to isolate from everyone.
"Eating disorders become the person's primary focus, and interest in real relationships fades into the background," said Kari Anderson, program director at Remuda Ranch Programs for Anorexia and Bulimia. "The main reason for the isolation is to practice the eating disorder without interruption."
