Tax rates for residents of school districts in the eastern suburbs are generally lower than those projected this spring.
Some residents will even see their tax rate drop.
When school officials were computing tax rates this spring, they lacked key pieces of information, including the amount of aid the state government would approve, changes in property assessments and changes in state equalization rates.
Many school officials erred on the side of caution and projected higher rates, in case money from other sources failed to materialize.
