NEW YORK -- Australian wool growers voted to increase the portion of the levy they pay for wool promotion from 2.5 to 4 percent at the Australian Wool Corp.'s annual general meeting in Melbourne.
An increased levy would ensure that international promotion through the International Wool Secretariat (IWS) based in London and the activities of the Australian Wool Corp. would now "be viable," according to a statement by the Wool Bureau, which is the IWS branch here.
