Sep. 24--Clint Harris, who steered the South Dakota lottery to rising profits in four years at the helm, was named Thursday to take over Minnesota's lottery.
In appointing Harris, Gov. Tim Pawlenty chose a leader with experience in a variety of games not presently in Minnesota's lineup, including video poker, blackjack and other electronic gambling. And it comes at a time when state lawmakers have been entertaining the idea of operating slot machines to compete with American Indian casinos.
